Update and Beach Trip

I haven't been on here in ages. I don't even know if anyone reads this but I said I would give updates on my pregnancy and I have yet to do that. I am currently 23 weeks with appx. 16 to go. We found out last month that we are having a boy. His name will be Owen Alexander. Jason and I couldn't be more thrilled about the coming months. The other day Jason said 9 months was too long but I feel the exact opposite. So far the time has flown by and I don't have the nursery ready yet so I think God knew what he was doing.
I took a fun little trip to the beach last weekend with my girlfriends from church. We went to Seaside, FL where the weather was warm, the ocean looked like a swimming pool and the customer service stunk. I have never been to a place where anywhere you go you could expect to be treated like a nobody. Let me just mention, if you ever visit the Publix in Seaside, make sure you do a complete price check on anything you buy before heading to the register. Other than that, it was a great trip with awesome company and relaxing times.

Well, I think that pretty much does it for now. To view more pics of me and my life, visit www.myspace.com/emmdean. See you there!

Bun In The Oven

Well, it's that time in my life when responsibility will be taking on a whole new form. I will be a mom by the end of January! Jason and I are very excited and a little nervous but with each other I know everything will be okay. I have been feeling great and have been able to continue my usual workout routine. Hopefully the rest of my pregnancy will go as well as my first trimester has. I will keep you all updated on the progress and the sex of the baby once we find out!

I had the chance to go to the National Wild Turkey Federation show in Nashville last weekend with my job and the funniest thing happened to me. I was standing around and all of a sudden these two older dudes said they wanted their picture with me, little did I know at the time they were the twins from Hee Haw. I cracked up when I found out who they were. I used to watch them when I was 3 years old. Funny huh?

John Mayer is Dreamy

Last night me and Susan and her two friends Melissa and April went to the John Mayer concert at the VBC. IT WAS AWESOME!!!! We all had floor tickets but we weren't able to buy them all together so we were split up. When we got to the concert, there were only a few people on the floor so we went to the forth row. We sat there through the whole opening act and then we got kicked out. So we went to Melissa's seat and the four of us squeezed into 3 seats. Well the three of us got kicked out of those seats. So we decided to be honest and go to our own seats. I ended up with the best seat which was on an isle so Susan and Melissa ended up standing with me. After the concert we went to the buses to wait for John. We were the first ones there and just knew we were going to see him. Well we waited for about 30 min. and the security guard came out and said John had been escorted out from another door. But the drummer came out that door and I got his pic so I guess that was good enough.

Cousin Retreat 2007

So this year my cousins and I started a tradition, we are going to have a cousin retreat every year. Our first trip was to Gatlinburg, TN. We rented a cabin for the weekend and had planned on going skiing but it never worked out. So we went to downtown Gatlinburg and visited all the cute shops and played games all weekend. We also went to a new museum called Wonderworks which is an interactive museum. You could lay on a bed of nails, design and ride your own roller coaster, climb a rock wall, experience hurricane force winds and a simulated earthquake. It was pretty fun. But the best part of the weekend was getting to hold my new cousin Helen, she is so sweet. So here are some pics from the weekend.

So Cute

Me and Jason as youngsters.

"Take a Picture of This!"

When I was just a child I was fascinated with being in front of the camera. It didn't matter what I was doing just as long as you took my picture. I got an idea one day that if I was holding something then you had a reason to take my picture. So I would find anything and everything around the house and say, "Take a picture of this!" In this picture I was holding a bar of soap that I felt needed it's picture taken.

Bundles of Babies

So in the last year about 8 of my friends and family have had babies. I guess I didn't get that memo. The baby with the red hair is my cousin Helen, named after my Grandmother. The one in the cute dress is my niece Chloe, she will be 1 next month.

The Curse of the Irish

My ancestry is part Irish part English with a little bit of Cherokee Indian. You know the saying, "The luck of the Irish" well that luck has not shined down on me lately. The contract we had on our land fell through. The land did not appraise for the sales price and the buyer backed out. Unfortunately that particular buyer had cash so he could have paid whatever price he wanted to without having to worry about a financial appraisal. I doubt we will have any more cash offers seeing as how those are very rare. So this mean pretty much anyone who is going to buy the land will probably have to get a financial appraisal and it doesn't look like we are going to get it to appraise for what we want. Another option? Sell it for the exact amount we have in it and come out even but of course anything you sell you always try to make a profit on. Maybe I will run up on that pot of gold on my way home.

Interesting Forest People

Just a little insight on the kind of people we encounter here in the forest. Today we had a half a dozen handfuls of people who affirmed any questions I had about the movie Deliverance. For example, a guy walked in and wanted to know where the waterfalls were. I stood up and as I was walking to the rack with the information he said, "Oh they are here? Are they in this office?" He found himself humorous, I found him annoying. I gave him the information on how to get to the waterfalls but when he was informed that he would have to walk a mile and a half to see it, he was no longer interested. Sadly enough he could have used the exercise. Another family came in and also wanted to see some waterfalls. The father said, "How do you get into the forest?" He was dead serious!!! Jeanne Marie and I looked at each other like, "?". As if that wasn't bad enough, he went on to say, "Where is the sign to the forest?" We were at a loss for words. While he was making himself look like the idiot he was, his 3 preteen daughters were in the bathroom spraying a whole can of air freshener. The mix of stinky rednecks and rose room spray are never good. Then the best one of all, a guy comes in off his motorcycle in a full on ski outfit, he was puffy. haha He wanted to purchase a decal which is used to get into the day use areas. He didn't know anything about where he could use the pass, he just knew he wanted one. So I sold him one for $30 then he started asking about the shooting range. "How do you use the shooting range?" he said. Again we were at a loss for words. We told him to take his gun down there and target practice. What did he want us to tell him?
Just a little preview on the kind of people I will NOT miss in the forest.

Hello, Hello Again

Hello all, I apologize for the lack of entertainment on my blog. My failure to post was brought to my attention by my dear friend Elizabeth (thanks girl). So let me get you up to date on my life. Jason has requested a transfer to Madison County and we should be getting the go ahead after hunting season which is the end of January. That means we are selling our land and camper (if you know any buyers) and a new job for me. We have a contract on the land which we should be closing on by the end of the month and I will be selling real estate with Re/Max starting the first of February. I must say I am very excited about moving for more reasons than one. First of all, no more camper life!!!! It was cozy while it lasted but I must say, the sudden rock of the camper from one side to the other which causes you to bump your head on the cabinet door that is slung open by the rock, will be easy to get over. Two, this means I am going back home. I hated the thought of raising my kids in the Lawrence County school system. Thirdly, my parents got a new pool last summer which means tan time for Em! I am really looking forward to our future and the wonderful possibilities we will encounter. Please pray for us as we move through this transition and start a new life in Huntsville.
